The Importance Statement

All learners need to have an understanding of the relevance of their learning to their lives. The National Curriculum Importance Statement provides a starting point for a discussion around the value of learning in art, craft and design.

‘They develop an appreciation of art, craft and design, and its role in the creative and cultural industries that enrich their lives’

‘They learn to think, act and behave as artists, craftspeople and designers’.
