Range and content

It is essential that young people experience a wide range of materials and processes and approaches to art, craft and design in order that they understand the breadth of the opportunities and develop the skills to progress in their preferred areas.

Young people should:

  • be encouraged to work across a wide range of areas of art, craft and design - including applied practices.
  • consider how 2D, 3D and new technologies are used in the world of work
  • understand health and safety issues and develop safe working practices.
