MA LEVEL

MASTER of FINE ART, part-time (six semesters)
From September 2012
This is a practice-based Masters programme. An individual, negotiated programme of studio work will re-establish and develop work potentially to professional exhibiting level. Progress is guided by scheduled and optional individual tutorials and group critiques of work. The programme covers the entire range of Fine Art practice from painting and sculpture to video and live art. It is supported by good facilities and taught by nationally and internationally active practising artists. The context for studio work is informed and clarified by seminars and discussions which set out a wide range of practice relating to individual artists and contemporary museum, gallery and curating activity. These are taught by staff from the University College with contributions from directors and curators of galleries of national and international standing.

The programme runs for two years for 45 weeks over three semesters from October to January, February to June and June to September. It includes six to eight Fine Art study visits to London each year between October and June as well as optional participation in two overseas study visits each year, currently to Berlin, Paris and New York.
