NSEAD is delighted to be presenting the NSEAD national conference and AGM in Durham during June 2017.

The conference will define and celebrate excellence in our subject across all phases and will be of relevance to teachers, lecturers and educators of art, craft and design working in primary, secondary and further education, museum and gallery educators and initial teacher trainers and trainees.

For compelling arguments about the value of art, craft and design in education join us in Durham for our national conference.

The conference will begin on Friday evening ( 5pm-7.30pm) and run throughout Saturday (9.30am-5pm). There will be the opportunity to join two conference suppers on Friday and Saturday evening.

Friday evening: An Evening With the North East Art Teachers Network, NEATEN, showcasing excellence in the region.

Saturday: Confirmed speakers include Ellen Beveridge, Head teacher of Durham Sixth Form Centre

Dr Peter Gregory, President of NSEAD talking about excellence in primary art, craft and design

NSEAD patron and artist, Cornelia Parker, talking about her work

Ged Gast, consultant and immediate past President of NSEAD and Liz McFarlane, consultant and Vice President of NSEAD talking about excellence in secondary art, craft and design

There will be an opportunity to join a wide variety of practical workshops, for both primary and secondary teachers, to include life drawing, ceramics and digital manipulation run by Traci Cain, Donna Grant, Ruth Robinson and Michael Robinson

Dr Rachel Payne and Dr Emese Hall will be leading a practical drawing workshop, 'drawn to policy'

Members are invited to attend the 129th AGM of NSEAD held as part of our national conference in Durham.

An AGM agenda and the Annual Report 2015-16 will be available on the website in March 2017.
