2.1 Common Law
There are long-established and important common law requirements for those acting in loco parentis
to exercise the same care as a reasonable parent would in the same circumstances. Those in
charge of children should be aware of the school's health and safety policy (see
section 2.2.2)
and the appropriate action to take in the event of an accident or emergency.
