Getting Started in Research

Most readers will be looking at this page because they are doing a higher degree, some research of their own or simply because they are intrigued by some aspect of their professional role or practice that merits further enquiry. Other visitors to this page may be at the point of thinking about engaging in research into some aspect of art education for the first time. The important thing to note is that these resources are intended as a first line of engagement with the business of getting starting in research. There are very many good books on research methods in the social sciences and education and this collection of web links cannot hope to match the breadth and depth that such publications cover. However, the links here will be useful in starting to think about focusing lines of enquiry, choosing appropriate methods of data collection, analysis of evidence and reporting findings.

Everyone has to start somewhere in research. Begin by looking at your own University web site.
