Watch this Space 7, engage's funded professional development programme for galleries, teachers and gallery educators is now open for applications.

Watch this Space 7, places teachers from non-visiting schools in galleries and early career gallery educators and artists in schools. The programme enables participants to gain first-hand experience of each other's work, in order to initiate, build and sustain relationships. Watch this Space 7, placements will take place during the Autumn term of 2010.

Watch this Space 7, has a focus on: the new Key Stage 3 curriculum; the Creative and Media diplomas and work-related learning; cross-curricular working and citizenship; craft and design; working with Initial Teacher Trainees.

Teacher Placement Scheme
Galleries are funded to host up to three teachers from non-visiting schools on placement for four days. By getting to know the gallery, its education programme and the opportunities for partnership working, the teachers and galleries are supported to organise student visits and build long term relationships. Gallery hosts attend planning sessions organised by engage. Teachers receive 5 days' cover payment to enable them to attend 2 days' training organised by engage, spend time at the gallery, plan and carry out a student visit and develop project work.

Gallery Educator and Artist Placements
Gallery educators and artists are funded for nine days. They each arrange a three-day placement in a school which regularly uses galleries to gain knowledge of the curriculum, teaching and learning methods and how gallery visits impact on classroom teaching. Gallery educators attend three days of training with engage and receive three additional days' funding to complete project work related to the placement.
