Ofqual consultation: developing new GCSE, AS and A level qualifications for first teaching in 2016

As part of the ongoing reform of qualifications, Ofqual have launched a consultation which sets out proposals for how a range of new GCSEs, AS and A levels due to be taught in schools and colleges from September 2016 should be assessed.

This consultation sits alongside a parallel DfE consultation setting out the proposed curriculum content for these subjects. It is the latest in a series of Ofqual consultations aimed at giving stakeholders an opportunity to provide their views on the detailed design of the reformed qualifications.

The full list of subjects included in the consultation is as follows:

GCSE: art and design; computer science; dance; music; physical education
A level: classical languages; dance; mathematics; further mathematics; geography; modern foreign languages; music; physical education

The consultation, which runs until 22 September 2014 can be found here

The Society's response can be found here. We encourage our members and supporters to respond to the consultation.
