The conference will be chaired by Lindsey Fryer, Head of Learning at Tate Liverpool. An opening address will be given by Michael Craig-Martin.     <description><![CDATA[Take time out from the classroom. The Goldsmiths'' Grant for Teachers provides an opportunity for teachers and headteachers to undertake a project of their choice, in the UK or abroad, aimed at enhancing their personal and professional development.
The Grant will support travel, accomodation and tuition costs up to &amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;#163;3,000. In addition the Goldsmiths'' Company will meet the costs of four weeks supply cover.

   <title><![CDATA[My Money National Schools Competition]]></title>

    <description><![CDATA[pfeg (Personal Finance Education Group) has just launched two art-based competitions:  My Money, My Community  for primary pupils (in association with The Royal Mint) and  My Money Values  for secondary pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4.

The competition aims to get students engaged in personal finance education by combining their knowledge of personal finance with their opinions on the value and importance of money. Pupils are asked to produce a piece of artwork to represent their knowledge and opinions around these themes.

The competitions are supported by lesson plans which contain detailed curriculum links.

The closing date for competition entries is 2nd April 2010

A recent survey, part of the Making Good Progress pilot evaluation, found that 86% of Headteachers believe one-to-one tuition has contributed to increased rates of progression in their school.

Given that the current inflation figure is 1.1 percent  this represents  a rise in real terms. Starting salaries in Inner London will increase by 4 percent in 2009 and a further 3.8 percent in 2010.    <title><![CDATA[CfSA Community Cohesion Project ? Project Manager]]></title>

    <description><![CDATA[The Council for Subject Associations (CfSA) has been awarded a grant to develop resources for subject teachers by the Community Cohesion Unit of the Department of Children, Schools and Families.  In order to meet the requirements of the grant we are seeking to appoint a project manager to oversee the project.  The successful candidate will co-ordinate a team of subject specialists from ten subject associations for the humanities and arts to map and publicise good quality resources to promote community cohesion and prevent violent extremism through the curriculum.

    <description><![CDATA[The new online application process for the Jerwood Drawing Prize 2009 has now commenced.   Applications close at 5pm on Monday 22nd June 2009.

The Jerwood Drawing Prize aims to promote and reward excellence and talent in contemporary drawing practice through the support and recognition of the work of established and emerging artists in the field of drawing. The Jerwood Drawing Prize has been developed to provide a forum for the exhibition of current drawing practice through the selection of an annual show by a panel of subject experts. The annual exhibition is open to all artists resident or domiciled in the UK.
