Primary Subjects 2 Supporting Gifted and Talented Children

McClure, Lynne Edited by

Pocket file with pamphlets. Published by Council for Subject Associations 2008

ISSN 1757-0948

In this issue of Primary Subjects the CfSA has adopted the DCSF definition of "gifted and talented" to refer to those who have one or more abilities, in curriculum areas, developed to a level significantly ahead of their year group. Schools often use different terminology to refer to gifted and talented children and in this issue the terminology is unpicked to see what it means to each subject. What happens in the classroom is ultimately more important than the words used to describe "highly able" or "high fliers"
