Art and Design Education Theory into Practice

Volume 7.3   1988

Robert Clement offers his own view that the discipline of art and design education has developed by the contentious process of action and reaction. He provides a useful resume of the major events affecting art and design education during the last century and argues convincingly that there has always been a broad spectrum of critical theory in art and design education, encompassing at one extreme creativity in its most personal form, 'expression', and the other extreme its most public manifestation, 'design'.
