Issues Based Work at Key Stage Four: Crofton School - A Case Study

Volume 14.1   1995

This is a case study of Crofton School's art department which has developed a tradition of thematic and Ăˆissue - driveni work. The departmental approach encouraged students to work to a personal creative agenda from the starting point of provocative and accessible subjects. These thematic starting points continue to provide the key markers around which the art curriculum is constructed. This illustrated article will hopefully provide the subtext to the words of both student and educationalists, articulating with examples of planning, delivery, output and assessment formats - the leit-motiv of the approach.
