This article describes the experiences of a mature dyslexic university art student in a predominantly word-based education system. An autobiographical form is used, placing the writer’s personal experience into broader contexts where comm-entary is made on typical as opposed to good practice. The paper concludes by offering some recommendations which would be beneficial for all art students, but are absolutely vital for dyslexic students.
