A Peasant's Tale

Volume 2.3   1983

This is an amusing but serious reflection on the nature of the art teaching profession at a time when Craft, Design & Technology (CDT) have begun to make serious inroads into the school curricula. The paper draws on anecdotal and personal opinion, rather than substantiated research. The importance of teaching drawing is discussed and the paper poses a series of questions about art education. Two main ways of teaching drawing are outlined in the paper which proposes that drawing is best taught in the context of Art education and not CDT.
