We represent you - your subject, your learners. We work with you, and for you.
NSEAD is unique. Established in 1888, NSEAD is the only trade union, learned society and professional body for art, craft & design educators across the UK.
We are the Voice of Art, Craft and Design Education.
Working with you and for you:
To influence all areas of art, craft and design education – we do this by finding and promoting outstanding classroom and studio practice, creating learning materials, generating knowledge and debate. We lobby and lead campaigns for change.
As the leading voice in national debate, ensuring that our voice is sought, heard and acted upon – we do this by taking our place on key regional and national bodies, and by working with the widest possible range of opinion formers, policy makers and stakeholders.
To provide clear leadership and develop policy and advance research – we do this through our work with academics and activists, finding and presenting robust evidence that makes the case for our subject.
Working with a diverse range of partners, organisations and individuals with an interest in art, craft and design education to achieve common goals – we do this by connecting and organising communities and networks across the UK and the world.
To safeguard your interests and support you in the workplace with strong representation, professional advice and quality resources – we do this as a trade union, a professional body and learned society with unique collective expertise in art, craft & design education
As the national voice for the UK, we work within a global community. We are active on international platforms through our iJADE publication and conference, and through affiliation to the International Society for Education Through Art (InSEA).
