Action Research Group: Better practice in Art, Craft and Design

In the meeting of NSEAD Council and Forum 28 September 2019 a series of policy priorities were voted and identified. 'What does Better in art and design look like?' was democratically voted as a key priority area for policy research and action.

The Action Research Group for Better Practice are collaborating to create cross-phase art, craft and design curriculum and pedagogy guidance materials. The group's ‘aide memoir’ will identify and signpost the concepts, approaches and the purpose of learning in and through art, craft and design.

This Research Group is formed by NSEAD members: Ged Gast (F&GP), Andy Ash (chair), Deidre Robson, Ian Thompson, Liz Lawrence and Anna Pickard and Paul Brennan. This is a cross-phase Group who are seeking to connect curriculum research with practice that can be applied locally and nationally. 

Members of NSEAD Forum serve on this Group and - they began their work in February 2020 and have continued to meet regularly to build this important new resource. If you would like to learn more about their work, please email sophieleach@nsead.org
