Biographical statement 

Liz has a background in the visual arts and design & technology education and extensive national experience of supporting schools. She has worked recently as an Additional Inspector for Ofsted undertaking art, craft and design subject inspections.

Liz held the post of National Specialism Coordinator, visual and media arts for the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust for four years following twenty years of successful teaching and departmental management in secondary schools in the East Midlands. Her work has involved regular liaison with key strategic partners, including Ofsted, NSEAD, Arts Council England, Crafts Council, Arts Award and QCDA, as was, and she has presented regularly at meetings, training events and conferences. Liz has wide experience of designing and developing professional development courses as well as providing departmental reviews and ‘In School Support’.

Whilst teaching Liz gained three years experience as a Lead Practitioner of Applied Art and Design with the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust; presenting at national conferences for vocational education as well as running seminar workshops for teachers across the country and writing case studies for the SSAT and Learning Skills Development Agency. She also provided consultation to the BBC advising on subject content of ‘Bitesize Applied Art and Design’ programmes and wrote support materials to accompany the series.

Liz is also a practicing artist.

Based in the East Midlands Liz will travel throughout the UK.
