Ben is Director of the Discovery Decade project at the Campaign for Science and Engineering (CaSE). His team have conducted a landmark study of public attitudes towards R&D, and are using this to help R&D advocates connect with new public supporters. Ben has previously held roles at the Wellcome Trust, Academy of Medical Sciences and the Medical Research Council, and holds a PhD in virology.
The Discovery Decade project is seeking to understand the public's relationship with R&D as a topic, and to use this to better support those talking about R&D and its benefits. Based on public opinion research covering over 18,000 people across the UK, the Discovery Decade project is offering guidance and toolkits that can help make R&D matter to more people.
