Francis Augusto is an award-winning artist living and working in London. Inspired by his upbringing and sociology degree, Francis' practice candidly chronicles facets of everyday life and moments that make us human. His approach invites the viewer into the scene, creating an intimate feeling of familiarity with the people. Throughout his work, the themes of interaction, self and joy are heavily visible. Francis' portraiture, reportage, and personal work best exemplify this; there is more image taking than simply being "shot well", he seeks to create a feeling of affinity between the viewer and the photograph.
In addition to his practice, Francis lectures, mentors, critiques work, occasionally delivers workshops and always loves a tasty meal.
