Susan Ogier

Course facilitator for Leading Primary Art and Design

Susan is a Senior Lecturer in Primary Education, specialising in Art and Design at the University of Roehampton, London.  Her qualifications include Fellowship of the Higher Academy and a Masters in Fine Art (Drawing) and maintains her own art practice as much as possible. She is author of Teaching Primary Art and Design, (2017), Teaching Arts in the Primary Curriculum (2021) published by Sage, as well as a series of books for children, professional and peer-reviewed journal articles, and book chapters. She holds a variety of consultancy roles, including Associate Consultant for Primary Art and Design for NASBTT, and has worked closely with NSEAD over many years providing training for generalist and subject leaders in Primary art and design, including  maintaining her role as one of the experts manning the popular Facebook site, ASK NSEAD.  Susan’s most recent book in the Learning Matters series is the revised second publication of A Broad and Balanced Curriculum: Educating the whole child, (2022).
