Host for the Leading your practice – from visibility to 'thisability' event
Suzy has a lifelong commitment and involvement in art education. Having been an art subject leader for many years in a variety of London-based primary schools, she moved onto advisory work as a creativity and early years consultant and has been working in Higher Education for the past 11 years.

She is a practising artist whenever possible and continues to develop her own knowledge and identity as an artist-teacher. She has more recently been involved in research projects relating to gender equality and art across all phases of education.
Her publications include ‘Young Children as Artists: Art and Design in the Early Years and Key Stage 1’ (2014), ‘Mastering Primary Art and Design’ with Peter Gregory and Claire March (2020), ‘100 Years of Women’s Voices – a Herstory of Art’ (2020) and ‘Teaching the Arts in the Primary Curriculum’ with Susan Ogier (2021).
