This online CPD session for Primary School Art and Design Subject leaders will build on ideas of how to approach Cultural Capital and Equity in the classroom
About the course
This course will help you to learn ways of developing schemes of work and/or refining your existing provision to:
- Challenging the status quo of art content in primary settings
- Foster a genuine appreciation of diversity in your school
- Provide opportunities for children to celebrate their own cultural backgrounds
- Offer engagement with the rich cultural resources available, relating to other art and artists
The session will include practical 'takeaways' and tried and tested approaches.
More about the Course Facilitator
Emily Gopaul is an artist, art education consultant, and has been an art teacher for 15 years in both primary and secondary schools. Emily is the founder of The Primary Art Class, where she works with schools, the educational and cultural sector, galleries and museums and other creative organisations to create content.
What is included?
This is an NSEAD digital live course (hosted on zoom). These sessions will not be recorded so live attendance is essential. The course will provide participants with a chance to take part in workshops, share ideas and partake in open and honest conversation.
