Craft School - Educator Event

Crafts Council will be hosting a celebratory educators event to explore craft making in the classroom

Join the Crafts Council in the Crafts Council Gallery for a special look at Craft School: a summer of playful making. Find out more about Make First, the open-ended, playful approach to craft education that empowers teachers and learners to take creative risks, develop their voice as craftspeople and become braver and more joyful makers.

This will be a fast-paced day packed with practical creative activity to build, enrich and stretch your craft education practice. Work alongside other educators and the Crafts Council team to share your own insight and unpick how Make First can work best for your learners.

- Practical activities exploring different materials, including reclaimed and reusable materials, craft making techniques and creative prompts for using Make First in the classroom

- Case studies and examples of how Make First can be scaffolded to support a range of learning styles and needs, and connect with different curriculum areas

- Meet likeminded craft educators and practitioners and join our growing movement for craft in the classroom
