The Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School currently has a position open for someone who wants to train to teach art starting in September 2022.
The school is part of The Saint John Southwark Enterprise and Research Alliance. This is a training provider based in central London with a thriving network of schools.
The trainee will spend most of their time in-school while they study. They will work with experienced teachers. They will begin by observing others teach, then move on to team teaching with an experienced teacher in their department. When ready they will move on to teaching independently, with the presence of a qualified, subject specialist in the classroom to support them every step of the way.
Their study is based on distance learning resources on the virtual learning environment (VLE). Training sessions are provided by experienced school staff, and they attend some training (up to about 10 days, mostly held in a venue in central London). They also have a subject-specialist visiting tutor.
