Workshop aims & outcomes

This workshop aims to equip teachers with strategies and frameworks for integrating sustainable and ecological thinking into curriculum planning and schemes of work.

  • To understand sustainable and ecological concepts and their relevance in art and design curriculum.
  • To identify opportunities to embed ecological thinking and sustainable practices in curriculum design.
  • Explore methods for engaging students with themes such as biodiversity, agency and ethical use of materials.

This workshop would be most suitable for secondary school teachers, however could be adapted for primary.

Before attending the workshop, delegates may find it helpful to prepare an example of an artist or designer inspired by ecology. Please bring something to make notes with and on.
