Event: Teach Inspire Create Conference 2024

NSEAD are proud to promote this UAL  Awarding Body conference.

UAL Awarding Body is delighted to share their annual flagship conference for educators is back for 2024! The Teach Inspire Create Conference is a chance for professionals from the education and creative arts industry to share insights and learnings, spark creativity and curiosity and connect with like-minded individuals who are passionate about building a brighter future in the education and arts sector.

Join them at The Mermaid, London, for:

  • an exciting day of keynote speeches by entrepreneur and author Sophie Deen, multidisciplinary artist Ivan Michael Blackstock and the world-renowned Royal Opera and Ballet Design Challenge team
  • a series of interactive workshops from leading industry guests such as Ricebox Studio, Carboned OUT, Roundhouse, Punchdrunk Enrichment, MATT+FIONA and Dr Gayle Chong Kwan
  • an array of exhibitors from the creative and education sector such as Into Film, CyberLabs, UK New Artists, Woolmark and many more!
  • additionally, they will be holding an exclusive panel discussion where you can hear from  UAL Awarding Body Chief Examiners, reflecting on the key themes and insights of the day.

Sophie Deen is a powerhouse entrepreneur, children's author, and passionate advocate for using AI ethically. As the CEO and founder of Bright Little Labs, a trailblazing kids' media company she launched in 2015 (backed by Warner Bros.), Sophie is all about creating inclusive role models and fun, learning-inspired stories that teach kids essential digital skills like coding, computer science, and critical thinking.

Ivan Michael Blackstock is a South London-born multidisciplinary creative, whose work as an artist, mentor, and cultural innovator has been seen across the UK’s most iconic venues and beyond. His work has been presented at Sadler’s Wells, 180 the Strand and La Villette in Paris and is proudly recognised for co-founding BirdGang Dance Company and in his award for Breakthrough Cultural Excellence in Film and Video (Nowness Awards 2019), Dazed 100 shortlist, 2021 and his role as contributing editor at Fact Magazine.

The Royal Ballet and Opera Design Challenge is a national, skills-based design competition that gives students the chance to work to a brief inspired by a Royal Ballet and Opera production. Sandra Dartnell is the Royal Ballet and Opera Schools team Programme Manager of the Create & Design programme which includes the national Design Challenge.She will be joined for the keynote by the three Lead Artists for the Design Challenge: Ruth Paton, Thomas Guthrie and Emma Turland, who are practicing stage designer, opera director, graphic designer and work with some of the world's most celebrated creators, artists, and technicians.
