10 Reasons For £10

NSEAD members can register for The National Art & Design Education Conference 2025 for just £10. Here are 10 reasons why you should book your place today.

1. Gain insight into the current state of UK art, craft and design education with presentations and the latest research.

Session 1: Inform includes presentations from representatives across the UK art, craft and design education sector. School Art: Where is it? authors Dr Joanna Fursman, Dr Will Grant and Dr Carol Wild will be presenting their report and providing further insight. We recommend also reading Will's recent Artist Educator Blog post on 'The Content of the Secondary Art Curriculum'.

2. Stay updated on curriculum developments.

3. Ask questions, get the answers you need with representatives across the sector, including Adam Vincent, HMI – Ofsted’s subject lead for art and design.

Adam will be giving a presentation during Session 1: Inform, along with Zenab Bhuta, Canon Marlene Wylie and the School Art authors. Presentations will be followed by a Q&A chaired by NSEAD President, Andy Ash.

4. Improve your confidence to design and deliver an exciting art and design curriculum that is right for your learners.

5. Get creative: think, make, reflect and learn with multi-disciplinary artist Christopher Samuel.

In Session 2: Influence, Christopher will explore the themes of his practice and the way that it is rooted in personal and political narrative, encouraging delegates to engage in a creative activity.

6. Reflect on your professional life and set clear goals with accredited coach Sarah Fox.

In Session 2: Influence, Sarah will invite delegates to think about what you would like to achieve in your professional lives, to achieve the best outcomes for your learners in line with your own priorities and needs.

7. Learn how to lead impactful curriculum change so that you, and your learners, can flourish.

8. Discover practical solutions for your curriculum challenges with our twilight breakout sessions.

Our twilight programme of breakout sessions in Session 3: Influence will cover topics that you, our members, have told us are essential to your curriculum and classrooms, including: visual literacy, SEND, sustainability, gender and identity, leading curriculum change and how to use the new Oak art and design curriculum resources.

9. Connect with a supportive professional network.

Our annual conference is a key event in your calendar, and your opportunity to connect with other educators in the NSEAD community and exchange ideas.

10. Be inspired, refreshed, enthused!
