Dr. John Swift

Members will be saddened to hear news of the recent death of Dr. John Swift.

Dr. John Swift taught at Moseley from 1964 to 1975 before becoming a mature student at Birmingham Polytechnic gaining both an MA and PhD. John continued his career teaching at Birmingham Polytechnic and became Emeritus Professor of Art Education at the University of Central England in Birmingham before his retirement to Scotland in 2001. We are indebted to Dr John Swift for his outstanding contribution to art education, and his editorship of iJADE from 1993-2000. A full obituary will be published by the Society in due course.
