The Department for Education have reviewed evidence supplied by NSEAD and agree that Art and Design and Photography GCSEs should be given separate discount codes.
After a successful campaign to prove that Photography and Art & Design are distinct subjects, the DfE have agreed and have ben given separate performance codes. The new list of qualifications that count towards the 2014+ performance tables, including the discount codes for Art and Design and Photography GCSEs, can be found on the DfE website here
NSEAD believes this will have a very positive impact on teaching and learning in schools - allowing more schools to offer a greater range of art and design disciplines at key stage 4.
All other art and design subjects have the same discount code. NSEAD will continue to campaign for all art, craft and design specification to have separate discount codes.
