____
This is a key role in the Engagement team to support, and oversee delivery of the Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery schools’ programme, ideal for someone working in the fields of education, learning, and/or community programming.
Pitzhanger Manor is the Grade 1 listed ‘country’ home of renowned British architect, Sir John Soane, designed and built by Soane 1800-1804 in what was then rural Ealing, West London. Pitzhanger reopened to the public in 2019 following an award-winning £12m HLF and ACE-supported conservation project to restore Soane’s original design and upgrade the adjacent Gallery so it now stages ambitious and acclaimed contemporary exhibitions including Anish Kapoor, Es Devlin, Alison Watt, Rana Begum and Grayson Perry.
The Pitzhanger team is small and resourceful with high ambitions: it is passionate about heritage and the arts and developing Pitzhanger into a thriving and sustainable venue that has really positive impact within its communities. The successful candidate will play a key role in enabling Pitzhanger to achieve its objectives to reach new, diverse audiences and deliver resonant and inclusive learning and outreach programmes.
The Engagement Coordinator is a fixed term role in line with funding from the John Lyons Charity. The role is responsible for the development, organisation, and facilitation of schools and families programmes at Pitzhanger. The Schools Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the development and expansion of our schools programme, both in terms of improving our offer to local schools as well as to broadening the reach of our programme to meet the needs of more schools in every part of the borough.
The Schools Engagement Coordinator will be the key point of contact with teachers and administrators in Ealing schools. They will seek to build new relationships with schools across the borough, while working to maintain and build on our existing relationships. They will do this by delivering programmes created with awareness of how cultural learning and creativity compliments the National Curriculum, and which celebrate and enhance children’s and young people’s creative and cultural lives.
If you would like to arrange an informal telephone conversation with the Learning and Engagement Manager to find out more about the role please contact [javascript protected email address]
