The Big Landscape: Case Studies

Interested or want to submit a curriculum in action proposal and write a case study? We invite members to share their examples of best planning and practice.

_____

What is a case study?

A case study is a detailed example of a specific subject or project in its real-world context, focusing on a person, group, event or organisation.

For The Big Landscape, we are inviting NSEAD members to share their examples of best planning and practice in the Art & Design classroom. In particular, we are looking for exemplars of ideas and concepts outlined in The Big Landscape, providing real-world context of this comprehensive toolkit.

Example case study

Before submitting a proposal or curriculum in action case study, we recommend reading one or more of the case studies already published on The Big Landscape.

'Restructuring Resources' by Lucy Christian is open access for both members and non-members. Here Lucy shares how The Big Landscape helped her develop a Padlet board to review and refine her department's older curriculum resources at the Blanche Nevile School for Deaf Children (Secondary, 11-16) in North London.

Read Lucy’s case study.

How to submit a proposal and case study

1. Submit a proposal

Each proposal form requires just 100 words. We are hoping to learn more about your projects or curriculum. You will be asked two questions:

  • How was learning organised and did you achieve your aims?

Write your proposal here.

We will get back to you within one month of submitting your proposal. Please register only after we have got back to you.

2. Register

Remember, if submitting for the first time, you must first register. If you are completing more than one case study you do not need to register again.

When you have registered, you will get an email confirming your registration. Once you have received this email and set your own password, you can begin to submit your case study (see #3 below). Please note your log in details.

After completing your registration:

Please prepare everything you can before submitting your case study. We are aiming for approx 800-900 words of copy (with 3-10 images) or lots of images (e.g. up to 15) and approx 300 words of copy.
