Leading through practice: From Visability to ‘Thisability’

Back

Art education and disability studies is increasingly becoming a space for rich collaborations. This twilight session will be led by artist Saranjit Birdi

In this session artist Saranjit Birdi will reflect on his artistic practice and development of the concept ‘thisability’. Saranjit will lead us through an exploration of the body as a drawing tool.

“I created the concept of ‘Thisability’ in 2010 whilst exploring drawing with different parts of the body and its use in rehabilitation for people with impaired movement, it is literally the sense of 'being' ". Saranjit Birdi
