This unit of work shows how second level students (P5 and P7) are given opportunities to analyse, explore and reflect.
Children are asked to look at the work of Scottish textile company Timorous Beasties and Sir Terence Conran. They use the Harvard ‘Visible Thinking’ routine ‘See, Think, Wonder’ and evaluated a range of textile designs. Children also look at A Fight by L.S. Lowry and using the drama convention ‘Mantle of the Expert’ learners take on the role of the artists and answer questions from other pupils in the class. Learners also look at L. S. Lowry’s Going to the Match and comment on subject matter, techniques and media used in the painting.
