Art UK is delighted to be sponsoring the Learning Innovations Award which celebrates the incredibly creative, original and inspiring teaching and learning practices sitting at the heart of the UK's art education community.
Art UK is a cultural education charity on a mission to make art in UK public collections accessible to everyone, for enjoyment, learning and research. We bring together over one million artworks from 3,500 institutions – including museums, libraries, town halls and hospitals – as well as public art such as sculptures and murals. This means anyone, anywhere can explore and learn from these works.
We provide a digital platform that connects audiences with the nation’s public art collections. By digitising artworks, sharing their stories and creating opportunities for interaction, we increase access while supporting the long-term sustainability of collections.
Our learning offer aims to support schools, young people and learners of all ages to teach, learn, create and connect through art from our national collections. Our free, inclusive online resources include lesson plan suggestions, creative activities and resources for self-directed learning. They are designed to enrich lives, foster visual literacy and creativity, and encourage learners to feel connected to the art that they own.
