Neil Pinder

Neil Pinder is a pioneering force in architectural education and a leading advocate for diversity in the creative industries, with over 25 years of transformative impact.

As Head of Architecture at Graveney School in South London, Neil has redefined what is possible in secondary education, embedding architecture into the curriculum and inspiring generations of young people to engage with design, creativity, and the built environment.

Beyond the classroom, Neil is the founder of nationally recognised initiatives that have reshaped access to architecture, including Celebrating Architecture, HomeGrown Plus, and GLAM (Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Architecture & Me). Through these platforms, he has opened pathways for underrepresented voices and challenged traditional routes into the profession.

A respected and influential voice across the built environment sector, Neil has spoken and contributed at leading institutions including RIBA, the University of Cambridge, and the Victoria & Albert Museum, consistently championing the role of architecture within education. He is Honorary Professor at The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, and holds a number of influential leadership and advisory roles.

His impact has been recognised through major accolades, including the New London Architecture Hidden Hero Award, a Lifetime Achievement Award from Sound Advice, and the Architects’ Journal AJ100 Contribution to the Profession Award (2022). In the same year, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA), one of the profession’s highest honours.

Relentless in his commitment to equity, access, and excellence, Neil Pinder is not only shaping the future of architectural education he is redefining who gets to be part of it.
