(MOSAIC) is a team of Heads of Art and Art teachers from across the Secondary Schools in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. The group generally meet at least 4 times a year and usually at The Crossley Heath School, which is the most central school in the Authority, although there have been opportunities to visit host schools in the past. The purpose of the group is to come together to discuss a whole range of topics and issues surrounding Art and Art education. CPD opportunities and skill sharing/resource sharing are commonplace. Collaborative visits and life drawing sessions have been developed to support students across the different schools.
Although this is a Calderdale based network, we are happy for schools in other local Authorities to contact us and to generate further links.
MOSAIC leader and coordinator is Glyn Hirst (Department Leader for Art and Design at The Crossley Heath School).
The Yorkshire Art and Design Teachers Network meet once a term, in a variety of venues. Teachers are welcome from all phases and meetings are an opportunity to share good practice, discuss joint and local initiatives and update on issues affecting art and art education. Bring your ideas, skills and colleagues for a social and professional networking opportunity.
