MTAG - Curriculum, pedagogy and the big landscape

This 2-part session will be led by members of the NSEAD Expert community, Kimberley Appleyard-Pallot and Karen Clifford who will be bringing their insight and experience to support you as you develop your practice in curriculum and pedagogy.

Karen Clifford and Kimberley Appleyard- Pallot will be exploring the essential and desirable theoretical and practical knowledge needed for the secondary art and design curriculum, including: the selection of artists, designers and makers for contextualising the planned curriculum; development of the artistic elements as a part of the practical skills knowledge and understanding to be gained in each key stage and used to organise the schemes within the planned curriculum.​​

Kimberley Appleyard-Pallot​

Kimberley is a valued member of the NSEAD member community, Director of Art at a sector leading independent boarding school, an NSEAD forum member and founder of the South West Artist Teachers (SWAT) Regional network.

Karen Clifford

Karen is Head of Faculty Arts and Technology in a large non-selective academy trust in Surrey. Karen has over 30 years’ experience as an Art teacher and is a valued member of the NSEAD member community.

 

What is included?

This is an NSEAD blended course. The programme will consist of several e-learning lessons (available to study at your own pace at a time that works for you) and digital live sessions (through zoom) hosted by course facilitators, providing participants the opportunity to network with peers, take part in workshops, share ideas and ask for advice.
