Looking for ways to develop your own drawing practice, support your CPD and bring fresh approaches to drawing into the classroom?
Led by eight practising artists and tutors, the course explores drawing as a way of seeing, thinking and engaging with the world, rather than simply a skill to master. Across four modules – Drawing from Observation, Drawing from Art, Drawing Your Place in Space, and Drawing from Imagination and Memory – participants are encouraged to experiment with different approaches and develop a more sustained drawing practice.
The course is fully on-demand, allowing teachers to work through the material at a pace that suits their schedule and return to sessions throughout a year of access. It combines artist-led films, demonstrations, guided exercises and reflective prompts, with opportunities to share work and ideas through an online community board.
For art educators, the course offers an opportunity to refresh and extend personal practice while discovering approaches that could inform classroom teaching and inspire students to think about drawing in new ways. A Royal Drawing School certificate of completion is awarded on finishing the course, providing useful evidence for professional development records.
