This paper is one of a set of working papers which explore issues related to assessment in art and design. This seeks to consider how national curriculum levels should be used to support progress. The issues raised in this paper are addressed by the principles of APP (Assessing Pupils Progress) which are described in Art Assessment Working Paper 3.
